A 2D profiler measures the electromagnetic field in a 2D surface. The system consists of a mechanical part(four guide rails with driving accessories, bought from MJUNIT and Produstrial) and a vector network analyzer(VNA, with source antenna and probe antenna), both manipulated by a computer. The profiler moves the probe point by point to sample the amplitude and phase of the electromagnetic field excited by the source, and send data to computer for further processing. The example code contains five scripts. Run the mainprogram.m to start the measurement. Once finished, run the figures.m to see the 2D field plot of every frequency. Typically, the 2D profiler can be used to measure the bulk states of 2D photonic crystals and surface states of 3D photonic crystals.
