Responsibilities

You are responsible for overseeing our costume selection. When other theater groups contact the Ensemble wanting to borrow costumes, you are in charge of coordinating a time for them to come borrow them as well as making sure they don't take any costumes that we need for a current show. You are responsible for making sure they return the costumes and that they get put back in the right place.

There may be additional costume-related things that the Officers ask your help with. This may include things like reorganizing the costume rack every few years.

Costume Rack Organization

As the Costume Manager, you should be familiar with how the costume rack is organized. As of May 2017, the rack looks like this:

The costumes hanging on the pipes are organized into sections, with each section separated by labeled cards hanging on the pipes. The sections are as follows:

  • Pipe A costume sections (listed from south to north):
    • Skirts and Pants
    • Vests
    • Sweaters
    • Shirts
    • Suit Jackets
    • Robes, Cloaks, and One-Pieces
    • Outdoor Jackets
  • Pipe B costume sections (listed from west to east):
    • Nightgowns
    • Non-period/Modern Dresses
    • Period Dresses
    • Period Shirts
    • Period Pants
    • Period Robes/Tunics
