Tried to make images in albums/slideshows work with servlet returning url/xml instead of actual image. Worked in album, more complicated for slides. Concerns about impact on front-end performance, and the fact that the work was taking a lot of time even though it was lower priority than other tasks caused me to halt this work.

Refactoring code -- changed collection to album; get rid of unneeded files and images;
Fixed TH-708: when logged in as admin, can't view thumbnails inside albums;
Started on TH-710: ability to edit item metadata in albums
