Very Nice Email
We would like to thank you for taking the time to interview with the MIT Shakespeare Ensemble. Unfortunately, we were unable to offer you the directing position for our spring production. This year's decision was extremely difficult; our applicant pool was much bigger than usual and among the most impressive we have seen in recent years. We greatly enjoyed meeting you and we were all impressed by the experience, creativity, and enthusiasm that you brought to the interview. I particularly loved {specific thing from interview}. Because you stood out as one of the most impressive applicants, we will keep your application on file and contact you the next time we are hiring. We hope you will consider applying to direct for us again in the near future.
Thank you again, and good luck!

Director Contract
The Ensemble has a contract that all directors should sign. You should email this along to them after you've given them a phone call to offer them the role. The officers can share the Director Contract with you.
