Work assignments are essentially weekly chores you do to help maintain the house. The house doesn't clean itself! At the beginning of the semester, the House Mangler(s) will send out a form asking for your work assignments preferences. Everybody who lives in the house has a work assignment, and they are due at midnight (11:59 PM) on Sunday every week after they are assigned. You must physically check off your assigned work assignment on the work assignments board on the first floor. You may ask for an extension by contacting a House Mangler if you cannot complete your work assignment on time. If you have any other extenuating circumstances that prevent you from doing your work assignment at any point in time, or if you have general questions about your work assignment and the expectations of your work assignment, feel free to message or otherwise contact a House Mangler through some other form; you may reach the current House Mangler through xi-house-manager@mit.edu. If you consistently don't do your work assignments, a fine may be levied against you, though this is rare.
