My passion is developing inexpensive, technologically appropriate medical devices for application in low income and disaster relief settings. These new device technologies devices will benefit the lives of millions that did not previously have access to specific medical treatments. It will also help to reduce healthcare costs for those that currently do have access. I aim to challenge the entire device community to practice responsible design with a value-per-dollar mindset in the core competencies of their businesses. One project that highlights my work in this field is my PhD thesis on the design of a simplified negative pressure wound therapy (sNPWT) device, which specifically focuses on application in low resource settings.
