If you only want to play Click To Speak games, you only have to install the Click To Speak playerPlayer, by double clicking ClickToSpeak.air. Follow the AIR installation process, and a shortcut will be installed to your desktop! For information on playing games in Click To Speak player, see Loading and Playing a Game.

It's fun to play Click to Speak games, but we recommend that you check out the Click to Speak Editor as well, for a simple and fun way to create your own Click To Speak games. To install the editor, run TextEditor3.air, and follow the same steps to install the Click To Speak player.

If you are not planning on using the editor, disregard this section. You can still run the editor without performing this step, however you will have to run the Click To Speak player separately to test projects that you are working on.

Clicking "Run in Click to Speak Player" under the "Tools" menu in the Due to Adobe's security restrictions on AIR programs accessing content outside of their folder, we must copy the player's flash application into the editor's folder, in order to better be able to test games you are building on the fly. This is a simple process of copying and pasting a file into a different folder. Here is a step by step guide for Microsoft Windows. If you are using Mac OS X or another operating system, perform the corresponding steps in the directory structure of your OS.

  1. Navigate to the folder containing the program folders for both the editor and player. On Windows this should be C:\Program Files\Click To Speak\, or C:\Program Files (x86)\Click To Speak\ if you have a 64-bit version of Windows. You will see two folders here, ClickToSpeak and TextEditor3.

  2. Open the folder ClickToSpeak. Inside you should see a file named ClickToSpeak.swf. Right click on this file, and choose "Copy".

  3. Press the back button to return to the "Click To Speak" folder. You should now see the ClickToSpeak and TextEditor3 folder.

  4. Open the TextEditor3 folder. Right click on a blank space in the window and choose "Paste". This should create a copy of ClickToSpeak.swf in the TextEditor3 folder.

  5. You should now be all set! When you're working on a game in the text editor, you can now click Tools > Run In Click To Speak Player to test the game you're working on.
