The *Documentation Theme* adds a re-sizable pane to the left side of each page in the space. Usually featuring the page tree macro, the pane can also display customized content (like a search box), usually with the intent to make it easy to navigate through the Confluence space. In fact, options for customizing your left-hand-side navigation bar is severely limited with the new theme.
