The Documentation Theme adds a re-sizable pane to the left side of each page in the space. Usually featuring the page tree macro, the pane can also display customized content (like a search box), usually with the intent to make it easy to navigate through the Confluence space. It also provides an easy method to attach a header and/or footer to each page in the space, making it easy to post important messages to viewers.
