Start a New Proposal / Application: Directs users to a page where they choose among possible calls to respond to. The only calls offered as options are those which are active and in a stage that accepts new submissions.  Clicking 'Start' on that page creates a new proposal/application record and accompanying Proposal ID, and then directs the user to either the Application, Pre-Proposal, Full Proposal submission process, depending on the specifications of the chosen call. Users receive confirmation emails acknowledging their initiation a new proposal or application.

Call: Parent call of proposal or application

Start Date: Start date of associated award

Title: Title of proposal or application

The Control Panel is essentially the proposal submission homepage for a PI, listing all proposals this PI has ever submitted to your program.

Call: The call to a proposal is in response to.

Start Date: The start date of funding for this proposal.

Title: The title of this proposal.

Proposal ID: This ID is a concatenation database-friendly concatenation of the PI's last name (or user, if application) and a random four-digit number. This ID accompanies the proposal/application throughout the proposal submission and review process and through its lifespan as a funded project. Files and folders generated in the eSG system that are solely related relate solely to this proposal/project used use this ID as in their naming scheme.

Status / Tasks: This section reflects the progress of the proposal:

  • Edit pre-proposal / delete pre-proposal = Pre-proposal is accepted for review and the current date/time is before the pre-proposal submission deadline

    • progress of the submission, and includes some or all of the following steps (assuming an active parent call) :

    1. edit / delete proposal or application : if deadline has not passed; only pre-proposals and applications may be deleted by the user
    2. start full proposal : if associated call is two-stage omnibus-type, and pre
    Start full proposal = Pre
    1. -proposal was accepted for review and
    is accepted for
    1. full proposal submission
  • Edit full proposal = Full proposal exists and the current date/time is before the full proposal submission deadline
  • Edit peer review rebuttals = This call is active and peer reviews of this proposal exist
  • View peer review rebuttals and edit full proposal = Final Revision Phase is active for this call and peer reviews of this proposal exist
    1. ; this changes to 'edit proposal' upon full proposal creation
    2. view peer reviews : if peer reviews for the associated call have been opened for viewing via Calls FMP layout
    3. view panel reviews : if panel reviews for the associated call have been opened for viewing via Calls FMP layout
    4. edit peer review rebuttals : if rebuttal phase has been activated via Calls FMP layout
    5. revise proposal : if final revision phase has been activated via Calls FMP layout
