As part of an ongoing effort to improve the overall performance and usability of the MIT Wiki service, Wiki spaces that have not been viewed for more than one year will be removed from the production server and copied to an archive server on October 4, 2013.  This has been an annual process since 2012.
Archived Wiki sites will be maintained for an additional year and can be restored to production upon user request within this one-year period, after which they will be permanently removed.  Sites archived as part of the 2013 archival effort will be available for restoration upon user request until October 2014. 
NOTE:  As of October 4, 2013, sites archived in 2012 will be removed permanently.

Wiki spaces moved from the production server to the archive server will exist for a year
before permanently removed unless site owners request restoration to production.

{center} h5. IST will begin archiving wiki spaces with no activity on a yearly basis. All spaces with a creation date greater than one year will be reviewed for activity, and all spaces that have not been viewed or modified within a year will be moved from wikis.mit.edu to an archive server at wikis-stage.mit.edu. Spaces will remain on the archive server for another year, and will be removed from the archive server the following year. Everyone in the MIT community will have the access to the archive server and will be able to view and modify their spaces on the archive server.
