Introduction

The CRE has one main multi-function copier/printer/scanner, located in 9-329a, across from the coffee maker. 9-329a is located within the confines of the main CRE Office space (within 9-343).

Self-Installation Instructions

To print documents with your Windows or Mac computer, some setup is required. Please follow the instructions for your device below:

Guided Installation Instructions

To have a service technician install the printer for you, please follow these instructions:

  1. Call Conway Technologies at (603) 889-8563, option 1, option 1.

  2. Tell them you need the CRE copier installed on your device. The Equipment Tag Number is TH548.

  3. A Conway technician will return your call and remote into your computer to add the printer. If asked, inform them the IP address of the printer is msred-copier.mit.edu 

You will need to know the administrator password for your computer (Your administrator password is the password you type in to install software on your computer or change system settings).

You must be on-campus when they install the printer and be connected to the MIT Secure wireless network; or you must be connected to the MIT VPN.

Supplies & Service

This printer is under contract with Conway Solutions, which means that supplies, toner, and service calls are covered for free under the cost of our usage agreement. 

To order supplies or obtain service, call Conway Technologies at (603) 889-8563, and then provide them with the Equipment Tag Number, which is TH548 (also located on the front of the device.)

Tips

  • In order to print, you must be connected to the MIT network. You can connect to the MIT network using one of the following methods:
    • Connect to the MIT SECURE  or MIT wireless network
    • Connect to a wall jack using an Ethernet cable.
    • Connect to the GlobalProtect VPN
