In addition to Rule Broadcasting, I think we need to give some additional choices such as Talamas - http://www.talamas.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc.  There may also be others out there that come to mind. -EM

Might want to add a comment in regards to an archival version in addition to a web version on the DIY front.  The importance of an archival version would be for future transcoding from a high quality file to new formats as well as having an "edited master" version which they can change at some point.  This would also lead to storage suggestions (ie, DSpace, physical - DVD, hard drive, etc and the pros and cons of those as well) -  NOTE - Transcoding links to not seem to be working. I would modify the following line "Wear what makes you most comfortable, but try to avoid small, high-contrast patterns, which will cause visual problems in the finished video" to "Wear what makes you most comfortable, but be aware that small, high-contrast patters such as pinstripes on a shirt as well as solid white or black can cause visual problems with the finished video." (Hopefully we can have some examples, even if stills that are screen shot grab examples.)
On Lighting tips, I could add "try to avoid mixed lighting (ie, daylight coming through a window with fluorescent or projector light on your subject, if at all possible.  Close blinds or shades to provide one type of consistent light if you can." - EM

What is the difference between MIT TechTV and what AMPS provides for streaming?

MIT TechTV uses progressive downloading technology, whereas AMPS provides streaming video which is not downloaded to the local computer.  If you have content which you would not like people to download, a streaming solution would be the preferred method of delivery.

What's the difference between streaming and webcasting

Webcasting is the term used for a live transmission of an event, whereas streaming often refers to an on demand link.   If you have an event that people can't get to because the size of the room is not large enough or you want to reach off campus to other groups, you can use webcasting as a means of doing so.
