GR4 - Computer Prototyping

Platform: Android 2.3.3

Instructions for installation:

  1. Go to: http://web.mit.edu/bleeben/Public/CCSigned.apk
  2. Alternatively, use this QR code:
  • Download the apk to your android phone. In order to install it, you must enable unknown sources (Settings > Applications)* Creating and adding collections and items are not persistent. You can edit and put in information but the data is not persistent or saved anywhere. The full concept of collections storing items, with sharing privileges and persistent memory becomes backend, and in the meantime textfields are editable, and photos can be taken but does not have the final look (which will be of a camera with the item screen as an overlay). Drop down spinner menus which require a list of available collections will not function properly, and a preview of how collections will be organized in grid form can be seen from the collections screen (but since collections themselves are not fully implemented, collection-specific screens are not yet accessible.
  • A UI styling specific to Collector's Catalogue is absent from this prototype (styling of the buttons, text)
  • No labels

Here's my usability report! I like the simpleness of your design idea. Just finish implementing it and watch out for details.

  2. Fidelity:

-Your prototype isn't quite high-fidelity enough: icons, alignments, margins need to be improved (this affects learnablility).
    -scenario coverage: good

    Usability:

    - I found it hard to tell if ""sharing"" is a button or a label: If it's a button, why is there a drop down list right next to it. If it's a label, why does it look like a button ?
    - pls. improve feedback when pressing buttons (ex: public/private).
