Welcome to the working space for the MIT Sloan Practicing Management project. We're working on a new course to be offered 2006-2007, and we're also developing links to other efforts at MIT Sloan and to elsewhere at MIT.

What is the Practicing Management approach to education? Students prepare, act, and reflect on their experience, learning what it means to work with and through others to get things done. MIT students have always set out to change the world. With the new Practicing Management project, we're helping them to start changing the world while they're here.

some of the things planned for this internal site:

  • modules: our collective list of things we'd like to offer students while they are here
  • eventually, each module will have its own page with readings, exercises, etc that we can all contribute to
  • matrix of modules: our mapping of the ways in which students get to learn about these things while they are here, lisiting modules in the Practicing Management course, Leadership, CDO workshops, communications/OP, etc
  • practicing management rough notes and emerging ideas to share
  • evolving course plan for Practicing Management
  • draft vision statement for Practicing Management
context: background info, archives and links
