How to market a class/event and add it to the MIT calendar of events:

If your event is part of an IAP series:

If your event is part of a big series, like IAP, IAPril, JulyAP, or IAP in October, then you don't have to worry about marketing it or adding your event to the calendar.  Submit your class or event info to the series coordinator as instructed, and Mark Szarko and the Marketing Team will take care of marketing and adding it to the calendar.

If your event is NOT part of an IAP series:

Most classes and events should be posted on the news site and the MIT events calendar, as described below. If you think your class or event merits more marketing than that, fill out the Marketing Support Request Form as early as possible.

  1. Figure out all the details you'll need to market the event (title, description, whether or not to require registration, etc.).
  2. If you're requiring registration, post the event on LibCal.  If you need a password or help, email web-lib@mit.edu.
  3. Ask your unit's designated correspondentto post the event on the MIT Libraries news site and on the MIT calendar. If you're requiring registration, include a link to the event's LibCal registration page.

Please note: Due to a variety of reasons, the "old" MIT Libraries calendar of events has been retired. The events page sorts in calendar order.
