  1. We have a USB multi-card reader and one integrated into the FRED that has a number of slots for memory cards. 

    1. The FRED media card reader is above the UltaBay write blocker. Make sure the small switch labeled "RO/RW" is in the default read-only (RO) position (to the left). A red light labeled “RO” will also indicate this on the right side once you insert the memory card.

    2. For the external USB multi-card reader, plug the USB connector into the write blocker and attach and/or turn on the write blocker on processing computer. See the USB hard drives section for how to use the write blockers. You may need to do step 2 before the drive is not recognized, if it is not, attempt to connect it without the write blocker.

  2. Identify the type of memory card and insert it into the correct labelled slot, it should be automatically recognized.

  3. Proceed to the imaging and transfer section for how to transfer the actual files.
