Ingredients

  • 6-8 pints of sorbet (often lemon and raspberry; feel free to experiment, or mix-and-match flavors in a single batch)
    • Since LaVerde's no longer exists, it may be necessary to go to a farther away grocery store.
    • Target in Central Square appears to not have sorbet
    • Whole Foods on Prospect St appears to mostly not have relevant sorbet flavors
    • Whole Foods on River St (Cambridge) or Beacon St (Somerville), or Star Market (Twin CIty Plaza, McGrath Highway, Somerville) appear to have reasonable selections
    • Could be worth checking Brothers Marketplace in Kendall Square (and then updating this wiki page)
  • 2 or 3 2-liter bottles of soda, usually sprite, ginger ale (regular or flavored), or similar
  • 1 bottle of lime juice (typical sizes are 8 oz and 15 oz; both sizes work fine; some people prefer the higher volume of lime juice, while others prefer the lower volume)

Instructions

  • Mix 1/2 or 1/3 of the ingredients into a punch bowl.
  • Cutting the pints of sorbet into quarters (you can just cut through the packaging) before mixing may be useful. Once the sorbet is in the liquid, break it up a bit so that there are more chunks distributed throughout. The sorbet does not need to fully dissolve, and it can be nice to have chunks of sorbet as part of the punch.
  • If you want to have different combinations of sorbet or lime juice, you can make another batch in a second punch bowl.
  • As the punch is consumed, make additional batch(es) with the remaining ingredients.
  • No labels
