A next stage along the continuum is for multiple users to share the results of different runs of a single simulation model.

In a system of this kind, users select the inputs they wish, and the model produces the outputs associated with that set of inputs. The system then saves that set of inputs and outputs as a single simulation run. The various runs produced by various users are all saved in a scenario library.

The advantages of this type of system are that they allow multiple users to explore the design space of inputs. Users can discern the impact of variations in each input and discover linkages between sets of inputs and the results associated with them.

For instance, this capability can be used to facilitate sensitivity testing—determining how sensitive the model is to changes in different input parameters.

Because the results of a model run do not have to be provided immediately, more complex models, incorporating a larger number of inputs, can also be used.
