So you've just installed Click to Speak, and you want to play a game! Here's how:

  1. Run the shortcut for ClickToSpeak, which should be added to your desktop during installation.

  2. Click the "Load Game" button, at the left of the top row of buttons.

  3. Navigate to the folder where your game is stored. If you like, you can try out our sample game which demonstrates some of the basic functionality of games you can build with the Click To Speak editor.

  4. Open the .xml file in the folder for your game files.

  5. The game will now start! When the red button is labeled with an "X", your character is talking. When the button lights up, you can press it to interrupt the other character. Your character's response, and the path of the game, will depend on when you interrupt the other character, so choose carefully, but don't hesitate!

  6. Some games will keep track of your responses at various points and use these to change the path of the plot or dialogue later on. You also might be able to choose items or other options that will be remembered later.

  7. When the Start Game button is no longer grayed out, the game is over. You can click Start Game again and try to choose another path through the game (and get a different ending), or you can load a different game!
