Over the past several weeks, we have been preparing to migrate all departmental Exchange Accounts to Outlook 365, in line with IS&T's recommendations.

This migration comes with many benefits, but may also prompt you to reconfigure how you access your email.

Should you require immediate assistance accessing your email after migration, please contact the IS&T Help Desk:

https://ist.mit.edu/help

IS&T maintains a pre-migration check list that you should familiarize yourself with at O365 Pre-Migration Checklist, as well as a pre-migration info page that will go over what to anticipate as part of your move to the cloud here: O365 Pre-Migration Information

During mailbox migration, there will be a brief service interruption on your mail client. Outlook for PC and Outlook for Mac generally do not require manual intervention, though that may change depending on the circumstances.

Mobile device apps and other clients more frequently require you to remove and then re-add your account. Removing and re-adding does not affect any of the data stored on the server, no data is at risk of loss. After you add the account back, you will be required to authenticate through Touchstone.

Please see below for documentation on how to configure your email with popular software. Please note that, for the reasons above, Microsoft Outlook is the official recommended platform, where Apple Mail is supported on a best-effort basis as well.

If you are having trouble accessing your inbox in your software of choice, you may also view your email in the browser by navigating to Outlook Web Access (OWA).
