Problem Statement

Robots are systems of multiple processes (sensors, controllers, communication devices, actuators, etc.) running simultaneously and asynchronously. These processes often communicate via a shared medium consisting of multiple channels, allowing processes to publish and subscribe to each channel. When debugging, researchers need to be able to monitor this information while still being sufficiently mobile so that they can interact with the robots.

Current interfaces available for communication systems such as LCM are neither user-friendly, intuitive, visible, or efficient.  Moreover, these interfaces are not mobile since they run on desktop computers. The goal of this project is to design and implement an easy-to-use mobile graphical interface in the form of a phone-app for interaction with robotic systems.
