Pipeline changes for the week of June 22, 2011.

Current Changes:

  • IE9 is ready for release to the MIT Community. It will be communicated on 6/23 and available via the wsus service on 6/29
  • Stellar 2.3.3 Patch will be applied on 6/25 at 7:00am – Downtime 30 minutes
  • Also applying IE9 compatibility patch to Stellar on 6/25 at 7:00am – No downtime
  • Wiki shibd timeout change to increase wiki timeouts – No downtime needed – 6/25
  • Mobile deployments expected next week to deliver updated iPhone and Android mobile apps
  • PGP – 10.1.2 Upgrade available. Windows 7 SP1 still on hold while testing of new version continues
  • Identity Finder 5 – still testing
  • OC11 Firewall Update – Saturday 6/25 at 10:00am – no impact anticipated
    • Still need to work through testing on the W92 network on 6/24 and 6/25
    • Full role out of Pharos Printing in the Athena cluster has started
    • Datawarehouse end of year processing has started and will restrict access on 7/01 while validation occurs
    • TSM server upgrades have started. OIS will coordinate with business owners on timeframes and impact

  • InsideMIT Portal decommission 6/30
  • Building new certificate server – Almost complete; Still need Freshman and iPhone changes
  • Exchange 2010 mailbox moves – Starting 7/18 – No anticipated impact to user community

Ongoing Work

  • FileVault is still on HOLD
  • Matlab license renewals have started
  • Firefox 5 was released by Mozilla however we are not recommending until testing has been completed
  • Fetch v5.6 (Mac FTP Client) was released and is being tested – anticipate a July release to MIT community

  • MITSIS Java 1.6 upgrades
  • F5 software testing for Kerberos 4 and 5

Changes/work that is currently pending (exact date to be determined):

  • UAWeb – MyMit Portal transition to OAS moved to early July
  • SAPgui release moved out to end June
  • McAfee for Mac patch release end June
  • Oracle 11g installer release June/July (pending COEUS testing)  
  • Windows Service Pack 1 release on HOLD
  • IE9 support announcement on HOLD but ready to go
  • FireFox 4 support announcement on HOLD
  • Adobe Acrobat Pro 10 release ON HOLD
  • Debathena release mid July
    • users being encouraged to upgrade to Ubuntu 10.04 (8.04 no longer supported by vendor)
  • Exchange 2010 migration testing mid July
  • BSI (SAP tax server) upgrade to v9 end July
    • includes DB upgrade to Oracle 11g
    • desupport of v8.0.x end August
  • Roles database patch and upgrade to 11.2.02 (move to linux vms July/August)
  • Online Grading go live August
  • Electronic Transcripts go live August
  • MIT KDC upgrade August
