The Publicity Coordinator is in charge of doing publicity for Tech Squares, including keeping club members aware of what's going on in the club and publicizing our intro nights and classes. This is a large job, and it is typical that some pieces of it are turned into appointed officer positions and done by someone else. 

Job Description

Publicity for the class

• Keep track of and use the free publicity we can get from MIT (Tech Ads, Infinite Displays, poster displays)
• Run our Activities Midway during CPW and REX 
• Submit our First Year Summer Mailing 
• Make posters to advertise intro night and classes
• Poster main campus 
• Publicize the class in other ways 

Publicity for the club

• Send the weekly email & prepare spoken announcements (often done by a separate announcements coordinator)
• Update the google calendar (often done by a separate announcements coordinator)
• Publicize Saturday dances
• Maintain Tech Squares' social media presence (may be done by a separate social media coordinator)

Job Recommendations

These are nice qualities for a Publicity Coordinator to have, but not all of them are necessary.

• Willing to get up early and poster twice a week  for the weeks leading up to the start of class
• Excited about at least some of the responsibilities of Publicity
