• Information Visualization I see this as a key area, which perhaps is the intersection of both knowledge webs/social networks and intelligent searching. Take a look at the Information Aesthetics blog. Also see what is being done on the CNET News site with the Big Picture from LivePlasma ( see this example ). Given the information explosion, we don't just need ways to connect the pieces loosely joined (e.g using RSS) but we need ways for students and teachers/all of us to make sense of their connectedness quickly - i.e visually.
