Today's meeting largely focused on helping new members become acquainted with the team and our procedures. We started the meeting by giving an overview/tour of our Confluence Wiki, where members can find a number of useful resources. Please feel free to explore the Wiki to familiarize yourself with how it's organized!

We then gave a more in-depth overview of each project so that new members could select subteams. Here's what you need to know:

• ETHER → Zero boil-off for cryogenic fluids. Current missions are limited by the fact that cryogenic fuel experiences boil-off over time, which means that only a small proportion of propellant is able to be used. We are testing a new baffle design to keep propellant mixed and cooled, mitigating boil-off. There are two papers in the Confluence (Files → Resources) that are recommended reading for this project (particularly the IEEE one, which is more up-to-date).
• LEONIRD → Using solar occultation to measure pollutants in the atmosphere. This project will be very ADCS-heavy. We will use a near-infrared imager to collect data about pollutants in the atmosphere. We are currently working on our orbital modeling for this project, and we haven't yet established official subteams (since we are still in a highly preliminary stage). (P.S: LEONIRD stands for Low Earth Orbit Near Infrared Device!)

After this, we split into projects/subteams for a work session. You can visit a specific subteam's meeting notes for more information about what each group did during this time.
