What, exactly, are Practicing Management and praxis@MIT Sloan?

We're calling this webspace dedicated to helping MIT Sloan students hone their own personal practice of management praxis@MIT Sloan. praxis@MIT Sloan offers a starting point for learning about tools, frameworks, and skills that enable effective action, and fits into a uniquely MIT Sloan approach to connecting learning with practice that we label Practicing Management.

At its heart, Practicing Management has one goal: to help turn even more good ideas into even more effective action. To that end, praxis@MIT Sloan is building and sharing the tools for turning ideas into action, drawing on the science, the art, and the practice of effective management.

Our resources are vast: the passion and smarts of our students, faculty, and every member of the MIT Sloan community; the rigor, theory, and research embedded in our curriculum and embodied in our faculty's work; and MIT's rich tradition of engaging in the real world, generating new ideas as well as new solutions to old problems.

Practicing Management/praxis@MIT Sloan is:

MIT Sloan is the world leader in combining theory and practical application. We tell our students we expect them to change the world. With Practicing Management, we ask them to start while they're here - and to build the skills to keep getting better even after they leave.
