Obtaining a book with a status of "On Order":

Email monoacq@mit.edu. Include the title, author, and order number (i.e., as much useful information as you can get out of Barton), and the user's contact information. Request it as a rush order, and that the user information be added to the record.

Obtaining a book with a status of "Received/Not Yet Available":

These books fall into two categories — those with a call number, and those without.

If the book DOES have a call number, it has already moved out of Cataloging, and should be somewhere in or between Preservation Services and the library.* Check the ACME binding list to see if the book has been sent out for binding. If it is on the list, it can be expected back in the local library several days after the date listed next to the book. Place a hold on the item for the patron.
