Download and Install Maven

• As of June 13, 2012, Java SE 6 - Java SE Development Kit 6u27 is being used.  All instuctions will be for this kit. It is advised that you check with your team leader to verify which version of Java SE you should download.

1. Go to the Oracle Java Archive download site.  Scroll down until you reach the Java SE
   section and select Java SE 6.

and select either Maven 2.2.1 (Binary tar.gz) or Maven 2.2.1 (Binary zip).  Select a Mirror and save the downloaded file on your workstation.

1. Unzip/untar the binaries to a new folder (e.g. c:\maven\2.2.1).
2. Add the path to the Maven bin directory to the system PATH environment variable.  For example: add c:\maven\2.2.1\bin to the PATH environment variable.
3. Verify the Maven installation by opening a CMD window and typying the command line: mvn --version.  If everything is correct, something similar to the following should be displayed:
