Download and Install Java JDK

  1. Go to the Oracle Java SE download site.  Scroll down until you reach the Java SE section.
  2. Click on Previous Releases site.  Scroll down until you reach the Java SE section.
  3. Select Java SE 6.
  4. Scroll down to and select Java SE Development Kit 6u27 .
  5. Accept the License Agreement.
  6. From the list of Product / File Description, select the desired JDK and download it to your workstation.

NOTE: Before the download will begin, Oracle will require you to either log in using an existing account or you will have to create a new Oracle account.

and select either Maven 2.2.1 (Binary tar.gz) or Maven 2.2.1 (Binary zip).  Select a Mirror and save the downloaded file on your workstation.

  1. Unzip/untar the binaries to a new folder (e.g. c:\maven\2.2.1).
  2. Add the path to the Maven bin directory to the system PATH environment variable.  For example: add c:\maven\2.2.1\bin to the PATH environment variable.
  3. Verify the Maven installation by opening a CMD window and typying the command line: mvn --version.  If everything is correct, something similar to the following should be displayed:
