Project status:

Student Matlab: moved additional Matlab, Toolbox licenses from Athena to
student server; updated student server to R2009b. Tested direct install
again, suggested a few improvements to jdreed instructions

Keyserving: advised mcneal, bskinner on how to access and use Keyserver
admin program. Attempted to update server to 6.2.0.2 but ran into
"undefined symbol" problem. Reported this to vendor... Tested Mac
Acrobat Pro 9.2 installer (keyed), verified that it works...

General:

• contacted Aero-Astro re heavy use of expiring ILOG products by grad
  students. Reached Prof. Modiano who may wish to pay for continuing part
  of license (AMPL and CPLEX). Got renewal pricing and put him in contact
  with vendor rep. re licensing questions. Waiting...

• advised VSLS re keys needed to allow students to install Matlab
  by direct download. Verified steps in install process

• advised VSLS on keys users need to enable INSL C# numeric libraries

• touched base with jdreed as to what customizations are currently
  necessary on major Athena apps to enable printing

• conference call with paheff and Gaussian about getting Gaussian 09-
  licensing problems concerning MIT faculty member working with their main
  competitor; issues are being worked on, no estimated time frame for
  resolution. Got financial approval to update Gaussview too

• gave paheff Maple renewal quote for processing

Problems:

• reinstalled debathena cluster VM, which had broken- used
  debathena-gpxe.iso to get around PXE install problems

• test that applications run correctly on new Linux dialups

• alert ILOG software users that these applications are going away
