This page provides a summary linking to each test result and feedback. To add a new test result, add a child page to this one and select the appropriate template for the feedback. For example, if you are adding "Initial setup" results use the EncryptionFeedback - Setup template. You can later modify the entries if you need to correct or updates something.

Summary of Findings so far

• Incremental Backup is going to be a challenge for FileVault systems as most treat the Home Folder now as one big encrypted file.  We'll talk to vendors to see if there are settings to resolve this for SuperDuper, TSM and probably Retrospect.
• FileVault can take a long time to complete the initial encryption - 4.5 hours in one case of 26GB in Home Folder on brand new hardware.
