Next, the unit ships without a power supply, so you will need to make sure you have a suitable one available. The unit uses a 5V supply, 1A minimum, with a 2.1mm barrel plug. The following power supply would work fine: Mean Well GST18A05-P1J, or its wall mount equivalent Mean Well GST18U05-P1J. Also, to ensure reliability of the unit please be sure to use both a high quality USB3 cable and a high quality USB3 host card installed in your PC. In case you have any trouble with the communications interface, we typically suggest this USB 3.0 PCI-Express card, which can be installed in your PC. We have found with our USB 3.0 testing that different host controllers vary widely in terms of performance and reliability, so although your existing card and USB 3 ports may work fine this is something to keep in mind.
