End of September

Within team 6, the international regulation subgroup (me, Eva, and Emily) developed a powerpoint presentation on the existing international regulations and their impacts (including subsidies) in preparation for explaining to team 6 the research we did on the topic.

October 1 to October 7

This week (well, weekend) was dedicated to research on mini-projects. See the powerpoint we developed under "Large-scale economic impacts" for a true understanding of what closed areas could do to the political and economic spectrum on a large scale.

 October 8 to October 14

This week we will be evaluating the possible solutions presented with a focus on the area of enforcement and how that might be accomplished (since our group's concerns are mainly political and economic). One possible solution presented at the team meeting today was requiring GPS systems on each boat to overcome the problem of restricted areas (they are controlled in the air, why not the water?). Still, there are many problems to address and more research on the pros and cons of possible solutions to be done this weekend.

 Rest of October

So I'm a little bit behind but we've been doing so much in class as a team and bigger teams that anything individual seems a bit irrelevant. Still, we've been evaluating the pros and cons to the solutions presented so far and I am hoping to join the solutions task force so that I may give more of my input into how effective any of our proposed solutions can be.
