This page outlines planning Virtual Recruitment Sessions as well planning one-on-one campus visits.

Establish a "Visit Us" page on the CRE web site and keep it up to date with the various options open to prospective students.

See the VISIT US page of the CRE web site for all recruitment events

Virtual Information Sessions

  • Before the start of the Fall Semester, begin planning virtual information sessions for students who will not be able to make to campus
  • Have the Program Director and Academic Administrator lined up for each session
  • Consider inviting a student or alumnus to one or more of the sessions
  • Make sure all sessions are listed on the Events page of the CRE Website as well as on the Visit Us page listed above

Scheduling

  • If all sessions are on the calendar before September 1, it makes it easier to advertise them as a group, along with the Extended Open House.
  • Plan on both early am and late afternoon/early pm times to accommodate students in other time zones

Promotion

  • Promote in all advertisement as well via social media channels.
  • Ask faculty to help promote to their networks
  • Send out to any student who has made any type of inquiry since the last admission cycle

Reach out to all Registrants in advance to remind them of the event and reach out after.

  • Have 2 emails
    • One for the students who attended
    • One for those who did not, directing them to other upcoming sessions
  • Keep a spread sheet of all registrants for further communication

In-Person Campus Visits

  • There is a link on the CRE Visit Us page that allows people to request an on campus visit.
  • That will come into the MSRED Admission Email with the Subject line:
    • "This just in: NAME joined your email list."
  • Capture that email on the Recruitment Spread Sheet and reach out to the person to arrange a visit
  • When possible, have the candidate meet with:
    • Grad Admin
    • Grad Officer
    • Current Student
    • Sit in on course
  • Follow up with a thank you, a link to Slate and to the list of future events
