For the final presentation and website, each section of the solution should have an example of how the plan could work in a given country (for this, you must know your choice intimately). Your group/team should have a general idea how your plan (be it aquaculture or technology restrictions) could work in each of the following types of countries, but you need only have one specific example of implementation. The goal of this is prepare everyone to answer questions like "What about China? What about Russia" If your team hasn't specifically studied these countries, then you should have an example of a country that is similar.

Your "case studies" should be thorough with citations, and completed and posted for the webpage by Wednesday.

Criteria

  • Large fish demand, sophisticated fishery
    • Suggestion: Japan or ICELAND
  • Large fish demand, undeveloped/developing fishery
    • Suggestion: Hong Kong — they are still on the way of developement (i think so)
  • Large fish demand no close access
    • Suggestion: Spain
  • Hardly any fish demand
    • Suggestion: Puerto Rico or Armenia (negligible demand on fish--less than 1 kg per capita consumption)
    • Afghanistan or Bhutan or Tajikistan ( almost zero demand )
  • Land-locked
    • Suggestion: AFRICA... We need to focus on countries with low GDP/GNP
  • Small Island Nation
    • Suggestion: Maldives! They consume more than twice the amount of fish than the second largest consumer
