Purpose

The idea here is to be able to archive the business-related list traffic that normally would go to qla@mit.edu with a copy to abdenna@mit.edu.  If either or both of them become unavaiable, we can get in and recover work without having to force open their email accounts or have everyone send another copy of files and requests and so on.

Details

Rob created the list on Friday 5/7/2010 to experiment with.  Quentin and Anne are members, as is Rob.  Administrators of the list are these three plus Pat Sheppard.

Message archiving has the odd behavior of "scrubbing" attachments and renaming them *.bin -- you are shown what the name was (*.xlsx, say) but you have to manually rename the fiele at Save time.

But it does to the trick of holding on to files in case someone needs to get to them again in the event of Anne's/Quentin'g extended absence.

Follow-up

5/21/2010 -- Chuck King has agreed to change the DDM database mailto: structure to send to the css-finance@mit.edu list instead of to:qla, abdenna.

5/25/2010 -- the first JV uploadable TSV file was sent (by Chuck?) to the css-finance list.  Testing getting the attachment out -- you can right-click "Save Link As..." and the .txt file is saved to where you say.  It's in a usable form at that moment.
