Accessing the Prototype

http://woodrow.mit.edu

Prototype Limitations

This prototype does not have back-end functionality. Therefore actions that would normally result in SQL queries are disabled, and an example response has been hard-coded. Additionally, while a user may select an office for any of the three example representatives, all will redirect to the form for Senator Scott Brown. For testing purposes, no phone calls will actually be scheduled or placed.

Our Prospective Users

According to our user model, we expect the users of this site to be someone interested in contacting their political representative to discuss their position on an issue of their choice.

  1. Adding a child page has issues. Even though the wiki says you are adding a child to your project page, when you go to save, it saves in the global namespace, and likely causes a namespace collision.

  2. Hi! Your site looks really good. :) Here's my evaluation: hw2_s_cheng.pdf

Just in case you don't know, there's a bug in the home page where if you click in the zip code textbox there are a few spaces inserted that interfere with your typing.

: Nice note on prospective users. This sets the right level of expection for users. More about where it's deep as opposed to shallow maybe?
Fidelity: - Clean design overall. More work on general aesthetics and color combination would have been nice.
Usability: - New Search and Cancel options at the bottom are a bit non-standard. Might lead to user confusion. Having all the options as either a side panel or somewhere together might be better.
    - are sliders the best widget for choosing time?
    - nice error prevention for phone number input.
    - feature-related: keeping track of scheduled calls and better feedback mechanism for this.
Overall: Nice to see the prototype in action. I really like your idea, which is a stretch. Nice implementation of features in general, e.g. voicemail. Please spend more time on visual design :)
