E-mailing

MyEmma: https://myemma.com/

Campaigns - A campaign is an email formatted with content to promote something. At the Center this is typically for: 1) World Real Estate Forum 2) Professional Education 3) Monthly Newsletter 4) MSRED i.e. application deadlines and open houses 5) Webinars 6) Alumni Outreach 7) Career Development CTA, i.e. mentoring and internship. This section accesses draft, scheduled, sent and automated mailings. Email templates exist for the Monthly Newsletter and World Real Estate Forum. Other formatting can be duplicated from prior mailings or generated via the editor or HTML.

Audience - Current "active" audience is 12,536 subscribers. In this tab one can divide the audience into groups or segments and edit contact fields.

Groups are tied to alumni, partners, specific event outreach, MIT and CRE community, and more.

To bulk add to the audience, import Excel files (No hyphens in filename: MustHaveNoHyphensOrSpaces.xlsx) into a group (New or Existing). Once a group is imported to it can then be segmented using contact fields and other parameters (Useful to make quick demographic segments).

Currently our main "Subscription" is the Monthly Newsletter; "Forms" are a way to create a way to sign-up for a Subscription or Group. A form can be linked to or embedded (iframe or pop-up).

Forms are also useful to collect emails for a specific means, i.e. lead generation.

  1. "Contact Us" is set up on the CRE website to allow visitors to easily send us questions. Sends email directly to cre-info@mit.edu
  2. "CRE Newsletter" is set up on the CRE homepage to collect new newsletter subscribers. Updates newsletter subscription.
  3. "Alumni Information" is set up on the Alumni page of CRE's website for alums to update their information voluntarily. This updates group "Alumni 1985-2023"
  4. "MSRED Student Host Program" is set up on the "Visit Us" page to send us inquiries on touring CRE. Sends email directly to cre-info@mit.edu

Response - Where one views data from each mailing.

Automation - Sends automated email out to contact when triggered. Example: The in-use automation currently is, "MSRED Information Request" which is triggered when someone signs-up for more info on the program, then an automation is set to instantly send an email with more information on the program.
