We have chosen the Energy Sector. We will analyze the traditional retail fuels supply & value chain (Saudi Aramco, Petronas, Petrobras, Shell) and compare that against the emerging Bio-Fuels supply & value chain (Cosan – Brazilian ethanol producer) with a focus on delivery to the vehicle transportation (motorcar) sector. The study focuses on a critical assessment of the supply chains of Vale (Brazilian mining company) and its competitor Rio Tinto (an Australian/UK mining company) in meeting the iron ore demands of the booming Chinese steelmaking industry.
