Headline: "BenQ Projector Climbs to World's No.3 Market Share in 2006"

BenQ projectors outpaced rivals, ranking No.3 in global market share at 7.6%.

BenQ projectors delivered strong year-over-year performance gaining 1.7%, a 30% increase, in worldwide market shares in 2006 with significant growth in Latin America and Europe*2, according to DTC Worldwide, a leading market research company. BenQ outpaced rivals in 2006 moving up three places from No.6 in market share at 5.8% in 2005 to No.3 in market share at 7.6%, just a slight 0.1% behind the world's No.2 projector maker.

"We saw impressive signs of strength in our projector sales in 2006 especially in the emerging markets of Latin America*2 and Europe." expressed Conway Lee, General Manager of BenQ Digital Media Business Group. "We've launched CP120, the world's smallest digital projector and our first full 1080p HD projector, W10000 in 2006. And we will continue to expand our projector lineup with exciting product mix and solutions to the market in 2007."

BenQ projector shares rose to 11.7% in 2006, an impressive increase of 68% compared to 2005, securing the No.2 position in the European market. In Latin America*2, BenQ projector shares reached No.3 position at 12% with an outstanding growth of 139.2% on a year-over-year basis. In Asia Pacific*1, BenQ market share significantly rose to 9 %, a growth of 58.8% compared to 2005, moving up four places to No.2  in market share. On a quarter-on-quarter basis, BenQ's global projector shares moved up one place to the world's No.3 position in Q4 at 8%, a 30.8% increase from Q3, 2006. 

*1 BenQ's Asia Pacific market includes the Middle East and Africa and excludes Hong Kong and China.
