Our project is available as an Android package. It should run on any version since Android 2.3.3 (Gingerbread).

To run the prototype, install the Android SDK and use adb to install the package by following these instructions. (It seems like there ought to be an easier way to do this, but we haven't found one.) Right. Apparently you can just download the file from your phone and everything just works. This should add VoiceComposer to your device's applications, after which you can start it like any other app. We haven't done any cross-device testing, so if it crashes on startup or something, let us know and we'll try to fix it.

Each song in the list on the main screen has four buttons on it; only the rightmost is functional. The audio output is a bit unreliable (we'll look into fixing that for the next version). Recording is fake; the final app will use the microphone, but this version simply goes through a fixed sequence of notes.

  1. Testing notes from an alum who previously took 6.831.

  2. Testing notes from Katfang, who has not taken UI design but has taken modal UI design? Best alternative since Wolfe turned out to be too busy.

  3. Yay Wolfe did a heuristic test after all!

    Wolfe took 6.813

  4. By the way, Wolfe has an iPhone and Kat has a dumb phone and an iPad, so neither of them really tried to use the 4 android buttons

I was watching both Wolfe and Kat, so if you have questions about what their comments mean I might be able to clarify.

: Missing the description of what's shallow in the prototype.
Fidelity: - great design, intuitive track interaction, nice implementation, polished and professional.
Usability: - color feedback for the current playing bar misleading
    - using red color for both recording and track might be a bad idea.
Overall: Thank you for taking my advice to find external evaluators! You guys definitely have a great idea that's a stretch. Great implementation with no doubt. Please communicate more often both with me and within the group. It was unfortunate what happened for the GR4 submission, and please make sure this situation does not repeat for upcoming deadlines.

    1. Is what's shallow not the second paragraph in the description?
