Design 1.

Main page is the page in the left upper corner. When user opens site he has possibility to choose either artist or technique whatever he wants. It's good from the side of efficiency because user doesn't need to look for the page with his favorite technique. After he presses on the name he chose, the site opens the page which is in the right upper corner of the picture. Here if user wants to read the description of the technique he can press on "technique brief description" and see the drop-down text. Then he can choose the lesson he wants to study. If it's the first lesson the user will see the window with the initial preparation description. Alternatively, if it's not the first lesson the user will see the direct lesson window.

 

Design 2.

User opens the site and see the main page which is in the upper left corner. The goal of the user is to find the technique he wants to study. So the main page suggests two big buttons: either choose technique name or choose author technique. Alternatively if the user doesn't know what's this site for he can press the button at the bottom of the page to see the cool description demo. Assume the user pressed the button that suggested to choose the technique name. Then, he'll see the page which is in the right upper corner. This is the technique page. Here user can see the template pictures, the name of the authors etc. for each technique. This page helps to understand how each technique looks like without big boring texts. After choosing the technique user see log in page. If he's a new comer he probably would like to see the lesson example to understand whether this site will help him with his goal. If he's not a new comer then he can log in to site. After logging in the user can see his personal page where he can easily see what lessons he finished (also showing the precision of user's picture which solves the problem of computer feedback). After choosing one of the lessons the user will see the main interactive part.

 

Design 3. Children design.

The third design was developed specifically for children. That means big learnability, small amount of text, many pictures and animations and certainly cute animals. The whole design consists of big buttons, the rabbit-teacher who always gives hints and the very small amount of explanations in texts. 

All the designs solves the problems that were determined in GR1

  • will be really interesting to use (which means no boring readings, no boring understanding). All of them will have a main interactive part that will consists of step-by-step animations that shows how to draw. 
  • will be convenient to use. You'll need only a list of paper, pencils/paints and your laptop with web-camera.
  • will allow to draw on a paper directly without trying to draw on web-site or in tablet while studying lessons. In each case user draws on paper - no need for drawing in computer.
  • will provide precise and objective feedback. After finishing the lesson - user will see the precision of his work and places where he drew wrong.
