How do you manage different household tasks?

-Unhappy negotiation

How do you distribute chores?

- We(parents) assign chores when we get frustrated. If we notice someone is just sitting around, we ask them to do something for us.

How do you make sure chores get done on time?

- No way to make sure. Some things are just very important and have to be taken care of, like making food, taking out the trash, walking the dog. Some are put off, like cleaning.

What kind of devices do you have in your home? iPad, laptop, smartphone, dumb phone, landline

-laptop, smartphones, ipad

How is the device shared? Does everyone have their own?

-Everyone has their own phone, their own laptop. There's one shared iPad.

Do you have solutions already?

-Not really. We take it day by day. It's very unorganized, which leads to people doing things when they can. I think it makes people feel like anything they do is overseen.

How do you handle when a kid doesn't want to do chores for no good reason?

mom: fighting

dad: kids are terrified and just do it.

It mostly involves yelling, but different types of yelling.

How do you handle your kid being too busy to do chores? (Homework, Soccer, etc)

- In general, I'm very accommodating. We (the parents) are too busy to do chores sometimes anyway, so they get put off!

How do you handle complaints about unfairness and distribution?

--We fight. It's very stupid.

How do you reward your kids for doing something?

- Rewards include: praise, genuine appreciation, "thanks". I never did money or other prizes.

How do you punish/disincentivize your kid if they don't do the thing?

-Make nasty comments, generally behave badly towards them.

How do you prevent them from procrastinating, "I'll do it later."? How strict are you to keeping this?

- Sometimes it's fine. I yell if it's not fine. Mostly a case by case basis.

Why do you make your kids do chores? (Rewarding hard work, character building, easing maintenance)

- Because they're humans, they can do somethings. They can clean up after themselves. I've always felt there was something humanizing about cleaning up after yourself.

Do you have a housekeeper?

-No, I never felt like we needed one.

How did your parents make you do chores? How did you feel?

- We did chores every Saturday morning. We couldn't do anything until the whole house was clean. It was very different. It seems weird to me.

Are you on Facebook? Do you have an email?

-I don't have a facebook, but I do have an email.
