On 21 March 2007 Steve Gass, Vijay Kumar, and Oliver Thomas presented ACCORD's goals and mission to the Committee on the Undergraduate Program (CUP). It was a short but lively discussion on how faculty and students use technology, methods for reaching faculty with information, and what the short-term focus of ACCORD should be.

The lively discussion really surfaced aspects of education technology use that we should keep in mind as we think about how best our education technology innovation can be disseminated and supported on campus. Among the many valuable suggestions were two points that I particularly noted, that would serve us well in all our efforts: 1) encouraging faculty to share their knowledge and practices of education technology through vehicles such as the faculty newsletter and 2) focusing ACCORD's efforts initially on the large-spectrum, broad impact, mainstream tools.
