This note is used at the collection level to identify when materials from a collection are available digitally. In our current practice, this information should be included in a second Conditions Governing Access note with the label Digital Access Note

Online Access

Use the following language in the Conditions Governing Access note when notifying users that materials are available online:

Some parts of this collection are available online: see the link under the "Digital Material" heading below or the links to specific online digital items found within their entries in this finding aid.

Create a digital object at the collection level with a link to the online content.

Access available upon request or in the reading room

Use the following language if there is digital material in the collection but it is not available publicly online but can be requested for access.

Some parts of this collection are digital but are not available online. You may request these items as you would with physical items in the finding aid.

If there is digital material that is restricted to use in the reading room, you should also add a sentence on the end to explain that. For instance:

Some parts of this collection are digital but are not available online. You may request these items as you would with physical items in the finding aid. Digital files must be accessed on site in the reading room.
