This note is required at the collection level.

For digital material, give a brief description of the tools used for acquisition, but any additional technical details of transfer should be put in the Processing Information Note. When possible, group information by method of acquisitions together to avoid repetition. Such as, "Transferred from the Department of Mechanical Engineering using the Exactly tool in May and September 2019 and October 2020."

Information about possession of the collection between when it left the creator's possession and when it came to DDC is covered by the Custodial History note.
