Saturday

Saturday morning AMISR overview:

The tutorial will take place on Saturday morning and will be aimed at those new to the field of incoherent scatter radar (ISR) and/or those interested in learning more about the AMISR program:

  1. General ISR theory

  2. ISR data reduction/analysis

  3. Science highlights from current AMISR program

  4. Discussion on successful AMISR radar experiment proposals

  5. Public data access tutorial using MADRIGAL database

Notes:

  1. Phil E and Mike N will coordinate the ISR physics / data reduction portions

  2. Josh S will help Phil out in the ISR physics section by describing a coordinated experiment involving multiple observations (plus a model) which is helped greatly by AMISR capabilities, thus pulling in the maximum numbers of future radar users. This will help illustrate the large number of parameters which ISR can measure well.
