What is PMATS anyway? 
The acronym stands for Product Management and Tracking System, developed by the SAPbiz team in 2003.  A powerpoint presentation about it is here

The part we are concerned with is the PC Service Work Order Solution, which is

A custom user interface for reporting and MIT internal billing on computer repair work performed by PC Service. The repaired computers can be, but are not limited to, the data in the Equipment Master Records.

ØTracks repairs performed on Institute and personal computers.
ØFacilitates MIT internal billing through the existing SAP journal voucher functionality based on the financial data provided in the Work Order.
ØProvides reporting capability  through the existing SAP ABAP List Viewer  (ALV) based on data in the Work Order.
ØProvides drilldown capability to the Equipment Master Record for data display and maintenance.
ØProvides drilldown capability to the Journal Voucher document.

Our change request for PMATS is to reformat the DTR Line Item text output to include:

  • a phrase identifying the team
  • the RT ticket number
  • the client name

each of which is readily available in the PMATS Work Order as filled out by Aaron and Jake.

Status

The change has been made in the source code and it is awaiting the SAP Hardware Upgrade on or about May 25, 2010, before it can be put into the production or other server for testing.  So, early June 2010 we'll likely be able to see a change in what the customer's see in their DTRs.
