8.851 EFT Course Wiki:

This is the wiki for MITx's Effective Field Theory course which is offered as the online EFTx course on MITx Online as well as (some years) in person at MIT as the course 8.851.

Course Bugs and Broken links:

  • Please report any bugs you find with the EFTx course that you believe are due to coding rather than physics, on the following EFTx Bug Reporting Webpage. This may include things such as broken links, issues where a checking a problem solutions yields an error message, etc.  For physics questions or issues, please instead use the course Discussion Forum
  • When we make significant coding corrections to the course (particularly those that affect HW answers), we will list them on this Corrected Bugs Page.

Conventions:

  • Except where otherwise noted we will follow the conventions of "An Introduction to Quantum Field Theory'' by Peskin and Schroeder.
  • Our convention for dimensional regularization is that d = 4 - 2 \mathbf{\epsilon}. Also Tr(1)=4 even in d-dimensions.
  • Here are some Common Conventions for the use of light cone coordinates in SCET.
